A 6-Week Plan to Get Ready for Texas All-State Choir

Just getting started? Don't panic. You don't need to practice for hours every day — you need a plan. Here's one we'd recommend.

Week 1

Learn the Music

Goal: Sing through every cut with the correct notes and rhythms.
Week 2

Learn the Text & Diction

Goal: Sing confidently with accurate pronunciation and understand what you're communicating.
Week 3

Build Consistency

Goal: Confident, accurate run-throughs.
Week 4

Make It Musical

Goal: Make music, not just notes.
Week 5

Get Feedback

Goal: Turn good practice into great performances.
Week 6

Practice the Audition

Goal: Walk into your audition calm, confident, and ready.

One Final Tip

Consistency beats cramming every single time. Even 20–30 minutes of focused practice each day between now and auditions can make a huge difference.
